May 29, 2020
Dear church family,
Attached to this letter, you will find the proposed guidelines as we seek to reopen for services at First Baptist Barlow. Please know that these guidelines come after much prayer and discussion with our staff and the deacon body. We realize that everyone may not agree with every recommendation, but we ask for grace and understanding. We need to continue to show our neighbors what it looks like to be a unified body that loves and cares for each other.
We have decided to begin meeting in person again on Sunday, June 7th. Please know that we are continuing to monitor this situation and we have your best interest at heart. Also, if we can be of any help to you during this season, please do not hesitate to reach out. God will bring us through this are receive all the glory from it.
In Christ,
Pastor Scott

Proposed Guidelines for Initial Re-Opening Phase at First Baptist Barlow
- Sunday morning services only, will be held in the Family Life Center during the initial reopening phase and services will be abbreviated (beginning Sunday, June 7, 2020). No Sunday school, Sunday evening, or Wednesday night activities will occur during this period (Wednesday Night Bible Studies will continue online). During this time, we will have ONE SERVICE AT 10:30 AM
- For your safety, our church facilities have been fogged with Sporicidin. This fine mist settles onto non-porous surfaces including walls, furniture, h-vac systems, etc. and kills disease causing microorganisms on contact and is effective for up to four months.
- Deep cleaning will also occur after services. Those wishing to attend the 11 am service may arrive no earlier than 10:30 am.
- No children’s church or nursery will be provided during the initial reopening period. We will have activity packs available for the kids to take and keep.
- There will be no choir during this time.
- During this time, our online platforms will continue to operate. Those in the high-risk category are strongly encouraged to stay home during the initial reopening and view our services on Facebook or YouTube. We are currently working on being able to live-stream our service to Facebook, but if we are not able to get internet in the Family Life Center, the service will be recorded for re-broadcast later in the day.
- Each individual will enter through the doors facing Hwy 60. These doors will remain propped open during this time so as to ensure touchless contact. When service begins our security team will secure each door.
- Printed bulletins will be temporarily suspended during the initial reopening.
- Hand sanitizer stations will be positioned throughout the facility.
- Restrooms will be available, but we encourage you to use them only if you absolutely need to. Disinfecting wipes will be available for you to wipe down before and after use.
- Seating within the gym will allow for proper social distancing. Families are encouraged to sit together during this time.
- Masks are encouraged (especially for those 65 and above that choose to attend), but not required. Masks and gloves will be available at the church.
- Offering plates will be positioned at the exit and we encourage you to drop off your tithe as you leave the Family Life Center
- Upon the conclusion of our service, we will dismiss in an orderly fashion. Instructions to dismissal will be given at the end of each service. Please do not congregate outside the doors.
- Please use sound judgment! Avoid physical contact upon entering the building (no handshaking or hugging). Please check your temperature before arriving, and if you are feeling the least bit, or simply not like yourself, please stay at home.
